It's official...we're all winners!

Official race results for the 9th Annual Chief Joseph Run now available on the Laurel Montana Chamber of Commerce Website. HOWEVER, they have my time wrong. My official time was 18:15. Somehow, they tacked an extra two minutes 53 seconds to my time. Don't worry, they'll be getting an email from me shortly.

Yeah, I think my time is wrong too. They have 36:17, but I know I crossed before 36:00 minutes. I won't complain for that much. But yours is way off!

p.s. I was at the grocery store (wearing my Chief Joseph run shirt) this past weekend and the produce guy asked me where Laurel, Montana was. He also asked me why the run was named after Chief Joseph - which sadly I didn't know the answer to. He said he was from the Lewiston, Idaho area and that his parents own land near where Chief Joseph was born. I guess he was born in a cave! (Chief Joseph that is) Strange, huh?

By golly, they did get your time wrong! I don't know about those two ladies in the Chamber of Commerce office. They seemed a little frazzled! It seemed like they may have messed up the entry forms age groups AND the race times! Or someone did!

I'm so glad I wasn't THE LAST female to finish the 2 mile run. The only other person slower than me was a nice little girl, maybe 10 years old!, that kept passing me. I finally smoked her at the end.

Susan probably went home and looked this up, but when Chief Joseph and his Nezperce people were run out of their lands in Idaho/Washington, their flight took them through Yellowstone and then down the Clark Fork River. They crossed the Yellowstone River near the present-day town of Laurel. Hence, the tie to Chief Joseph. Chief Joseph surrendered to General Nelson Miles for whom Miles City, Montana, is named. There's the history lesson for today!
